Hatha yoga is the practice of Asana (postures) meant to gently improve balance, strength and flexibility and to cultivate discipline, body-awareness and a sense of inner calm. Traditionally, Asana are practiced in order to prepare the body for meditation or other contemplative arts as part of one’s broader yoga practice. The emphasis on these classes will be on stretching energy pathways in the body to help eliminate tension and quiet the mind. Suitable for all abilities and levels of experience with yoga.
Kelsey Ross has been practicing Hatha yoga for 10 years and is looking forward to sharing her practice with the Six Degrees community. She is a practitioner of Thai Massage and is in her final year of study toward a diploma of Acupuncture diploma and Traditional Western Herbalism. She intends to focus an integrated practice on mental health issues associated with chronic illness and end-of-life care.
