Shiatsu is a Japanese healing therapy. Shiatsu is a pressure-point massage technique developed in Japan in which finger pressure is applied to specific points on the body to stimulate “meridians” (pathways through which it is thought life energy flows).
Shiatsu techniques can range from deep and vigorous to light and subtle. Finger, thumb, palm, elbow and knee pressure along with passive stretches are applied to your body to kick start healing and allow your body to repair naturally.
In shiatsu, the practitioner and client work together to restore imbalances in Qi, posture, muscle tone and movement.
Benefits of shiatsu include reduced stress and fatigue, increased circulation of blood and lymph, reduced blood pressure and muscle stiffness, and increased vitality, stamina, and energy.
