After studying in Toronto, I received my diploma in Acupuncture and Eastern Herbal Medicine. I am registered in Ontario as a Student Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner as I complete my provincial registrations to become a general class practitioner this year. I have been practicing community acupuncture at Urban Wellness which is a disciplined wellness centre in Toronto since September 2017. I also have clinical experience with community acupuncture throughout the 3 years of my studies at places including Toronto People with Aids Foundation, and the Institute of Traditional Medicine Community Clinic.
I am passionate about community acupuncture. I love its unique environment as a supportive inclusive space to facilitate transformations. I think something additional happens when you are surrounded by people from your community who are engaged in their own self-care as they silently and sometimes unknowingly support you in yours.
I practice acupuncture using an anti-oppressive foundation. Acupuncturists listen to the body mind and spirit of each person in order to facilitate their change. This is possible I believe by non-judgement and understanding. I practice under the scope that no matter where you are coming from or what you are dealing with you will be seen and heard.
I also have experience working clinically with herbs and have a deep interest in plants as medicine. When I’m not practicing acupuncture, I work as an organic gardener in the city.
